San Diego, Calif. – August 6, 2009 – The 5001iX from California Instruments combines a flexible 5000 VA AC power source with a high end power analyzer, capable of handling complex applications that would traditionally require multiple instruments. It also provides high load current capability, a single phase output mode and built-in power analyzer measurements. Additional features include line distortion simulation (LDS), arbitrary and harmonic waveform generation and programmable output impedance. The 50001iX is microprocessor controlled and can be operated from an easy to use front panel keypad.

This multi-functional power source and analyzer can be used for a variety of testing purposes. For product evaluation and test, the built-in output transient generation and readback measurement capability offers the convenience of a practical and integrated test system. With an output frequency range to 500 Hz, the 5001iX is well suited for aerospace applications and the standard IEEE-488 control interface command language provides for simple integration into existing ATE systems. When it comes to regulatory testing, it has been designed to meet AC source requirements for use in Euromorm EN 61000 compliance testing and can be used to create the required IEC 725 reference impedance for flicker testing. The 5001iX can also be used for high power applications by using multi-box configurations and can drive difficult nonlinear loads with ease using its high crest factor of up to 5:1.

The 5001iX comes standard with IEEE-488 and RS232C remote control interfaces, which allows programming for all instrument functions from an external computer. Windows® Instrument Control Software provides easy access to power source capabilities without the need to develop an custom code.

This lightweight chamber is small enough to be placed underneath or atop a bench. Not only can this model achieve superb performance in a compact size, but it attains temperatures as low as -40C, with capacity of 22.5L and humidity range of 30-95%. Not only does the SH-241 provide high performance and advanced features, but it offers new capabilities for integration with Espec’s E-PILOT 21 information network system. SAN DIEGO, Calif. – July 21, 2009 – The Amplifier Research (AR) RF/Microwave Instrumentation Model FM7004 is a multipurpose broadband electric and magnetic field monitoring system capable of performing all measurement display and control functions for field related testing. It includes four digital interfaces (IEEE-488, USB, RS-232 and Ethernet), whose readings are displayed on its user-friendly graphic LCD screen.

Not only can the quick and accurate AR FM7004 display up to four probe readings simultaneously, but it is compatible with any combination of the “E” or “H” field 7000 series probes. When paired with one of these probes it automatically displays the proper decimal places and units, to enhance user confidence and is programmed to be self correcting if needed.

The isotropic field probes, have an essential optical transceiver which communicates with the field monitor through a twin fiber optic cable. The operator can select minimum, maximum or average reading from any or all selected probes, which allows for complete flexibility in choice of signal input. Peak hold capability has also been incorporated with local or remote controlled start and stop.

SAN DIEGO, Calif. – July 7, 2009 – The GroundFlex™ Adapter Model 6474 is capable of power transmission tower and tower leg ground resistance testing when used in combination with the Model 6472 Kit. This multi-functional and high performance earth and resistivity tester has been designed for reliability, speed and accuracy. This is the ONLY system on the market capable of testing ground resistance of individual power transmission tower legs and total resistance without disconnecting the overhead ground wire. Not only will you save time and money with this comprehensive tester, but it is significantly safer than many other earth testing systems on the market.

Users of the AEMC® Tower & Substation GroundFlex™ are able to test both ground resistance of tower legs (individually and total) and overhead ground wires. Unlike traditional earth testers, the Model 6472 offers the possibility of analyzing the frequency behavior of earthing systems up to 5 kHz. By employing a high-frequency measurement signal it is possible to assess the behavior of an earthing system in the event of lightning.
